Frequently asked questions
Everything about becoming citeable by ChatGPT, Copilot and Perplexity, and how CitedSite gets your pages indexed in minutes.
Answers, in plain English
How does CitedSite get me cited in ChatGPT?+
AI assistants only quote pages they've already indexed. CitedSite pushes your URLs into the search index that powers ChatGPT, Copilot and Perplexity within minutes, so your content becomes eligible to be retrieved and cited.
How does this actually work under the hood?+
Technically, we submit your URLs to Bing's index via the IndexNow protocol. ChatGPT, Copilot and Perplexity all read from that same index to decide what to retrieve and cite, so getting into it quickly is the fastest path to AI citations. You don't have to think about any of that; we handle the protocol, the keys, and the submissions for you.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. You add a small verification record at your domain (we generate it for you) and we handle every submission for you. No plugins, no SDKs.
Will CitedSite work for new domains?+
Yes, and it's especially valuable for new domains. CitedSite drastically reduces time-to-index from weeks to minutes, so AI assistants discover you on day one.
Does CitedSite work for Google search?+
CitedSite is built for AI search: ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, DuckDuckGo and others. Google has its own indexing flow; we focus on the channels driving zero-click traffic.
How fast does my content get indexed?+
Most URLs are crawled within minutes and appear in the AI-search index within a few hours. We've measured a median of about 3 minutes for crawl pickup.
How many URLs can I submit per day?+
Unlimited. Every CitedSite plan, including the free public tool, has no daily or monthly URL limit. You pay for automation features, not volume.
